Add Quillboard to your Telegram group

Bring feedback boards, voting, and a roadmap into your Telegram community — members suggest and vote inline, and admins triage from chat or the web.

1. Add the bot to your group

  1. 1Open @Quillboard_bot and add it to your group (Group → Add members → search the bot).
  2. 2Promote it to admin in the group so it can post cards and manage the board (Group → Administrators → Add admin).
  3. 3Type /help in the group to confirm it’s live and see every command.
Why admin? The bot reads free-text ideas members type in the group (not just /suggest), so it needs to see group messages. It only ever uses that to capture ideas — it doesn’t store unrelated chatter.

2. Group vs DM

In a group, everyone shares one board — members post with /suggest (or just type an idea) and upvote inline. In a direct message with the bot, each person gets their own personal board, and plain text (no slash) is captured as a new idea — handy for testing before you add it to a group.

3. Who becomes an admin

Admin powers mirror your group — the creator and any administrator automatically get the admin controls (status buttons, /review, moderation, /announce). Demote someone in Telegram and their board-admin powers drop on their next action. Nothing to configure.

4. Open the web dashboard

Open a DM with the bot, then run /dashboard in a group you admin — it DMs you a private, single-use login link (valid 10 minutes) scoped to the communities you manage. The full command reference and admin model are in the admin guide.

Self-hosting? If you run your own instance you’ll create a bot via @BotFather and disable its privacy mode (so it can read group ideas). The hosted bot above needs none of that — see the self-hosting section on the docs overview.
