Data Deletion

Last updated: 2026-07-23

You can have your personal data, or an entire community, permanently deleted. Deletions cascade: removing a user clears their memberships, votes, follows, and notifications, and anonymizes any suggestions or comments they authored (the content stays, the author becomes anonymous). Removing a community deletes everything in it.

What deletion does not remove

Two things survive, and it is fairer to say so here than to let you discover it later:

  • A ban stays in force. We keep a one-way fingerprint of the banned account — no readable personal data, and it cannot be reversed into an identity — so the same account cannot rejoin by deleting itself and coming back.
  • Records of removed rule-breaking content. If content was removed for threats, hate speech, or harassment, we keep it as a record of that decision so it can be reviewed, appealed, or defended. See Retention & deletion for the legal basis and how long we keep it.

Neither applies to an ordinary account. If you have not been moderated, deletion removes everything described above.

Delete your personal data

Email [email protected] from the account you want erased, or ask a community admin to remove you. Include your Telegram/Discord username so we can match the right account. (On a self-hosted instance, contact that operator instead.)

Delete a community (admins)

A community owner can request full deletion of their community and all its data. Contact the operator from an admin account; the request is logged and processed promptly.

Billing records

Invoices and payment records may be retained for a limited period after deletion where we are required to keep them for tax, accounting, or other legal obligations. They are not used for any other purpose.
