Add Quillboard to your Discord server
Two minutes to a working feedback board: authorize the bot, point members at a channel, and start collecting and voting on ideas — without anyone leaving Discord.
1. Add the bot
- 1Click Add to Discord and pick the server you manage.
- 2Review the permissions (below) and authorize. The bot joins immediately — no developer account, no bot token to create.
- 3That’s it. Type
/helpin any channel the bot can see to confirm it’s live.
2. What permissions it asks for
Quillboard requests the minimum it needs to post and read feedback cards — nothing more. No privileged intents (it never reads message content, member lists, or presence).
| View Channels | See the channel where members post ideas. |
| Send Messages | Post suggestion cards, roadmap and changelog replies. |
| Embed Links | Render the rich cards with vote buttons. |
| Read Message History | Attach votes/comments to the right card. |
3. First run
- 1Members post ideas with
/suggest(Discord uses named options, e.g./suggest text:…) and upvote with a click. - 2Use
/roadmap,/top, and/changelogto browse — the board sorts by real demand. - 3Report duplicates or bad items with
/report; admins triage from chat or the web dashboard.
4. Who becomes an admin
Admin powers mirror your server — the owner, or anyone with Administrator or Manage Server, automatically gets the admin controls (status buttons, /review, moderation). Remove someone’s server-admin and their board-admin powers drop on their next action. Nothing to configure.
5. Open the web dashboard
Admins run /dashboard for a one-time login link (an ephemeral reply only you can see), or use Continue with Discord on the login page. The full command list and admin model live in the admin guide.
